I have used cartoons
in production of educational media for over 35 years. They are effective
to illustrate specific training topics, as well as visually pleasing.
I have always subscribed to the theory that when you display visual
support for a message it must support the message. Otherwise, when you
have visual support that has little or no relation to the topic, it
detracts from the message. That is why I provide custom cartooning for
clients. My characters have appeared in slide shows, brochures, posters,
even on television when I worked as an artist at a university.
Below are samples
of cartoons I have produced for various applications. To view a larger

| Safety
training presentations can be very dry (boring) resulting in failure
to transfer the safety information to the employees attending the
training. An effective approach to holding attention, and thus increasing
the probability of information transfer, is the use of cartoon characters
to essentially entertain the employess (hold their attention) at
the same time as presenting safety training. |
